Biotech Umeå: The quest for a better spruce

[2011-12-29] The Norway spruce tree has seven times more genetic material than humans. A huge project at Umeå Plant Science Centre (UPSC) at Umeå University is currently underway in an attempt to decipher every base in the spruce tree’s DNA sequence.
