“The Jewel of India” awarded to Visiting Professor in Physics

[2013-01-09] Padma Kant Shukla, Visiting Professor at the Department of Physics at Umeå University, will be honored with the prestigious "Hind Rattan Award" (The Jewel of India) by the Prime Minister of India.

The prize is in recognition of his contributions to plasma physics. The ceremony will take place during the 32nd International Congress of Non-resident Indians (NRI) on 25 January 2013 in Delhi, India.

Padma Kant Shukla is Professor in Physics at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, and Visiting Professor at Umeå University since 1997.
